Temperatures in Spain to Reach Over 40 Degrees Celsius as Heatwave Hits the Country
Today is expected to be the peak of the first major heatwave of the season, with thermometers expected to hit 44 degrees Celsius in parts of Andalucía and over 40 degrees Celsius in several regions on the southern coast.
AEMET has said however that it predicts a temporary drop in temperatures from Saturday, however it is expecting another band of hot air to arrive across the Iberian peninsular next week.
A high-pressure system from Algeria influences this heat, marking unusually high temps across the Iberian Peninsula and Balearic Islands.
