Spain tourism jobs hit 3.1 million in July as sector outpaces wider labour market

Employment linked to Spain’s tourism industry reached almost 3.1 million workers in July, according to figures from Turespaña.

The number of people affiliated to Social Security in tourism-related activities increased by 110,712 compared with July last year, representing a 3.7 percent annual increase.

Tourism-related employment now accounts for 13.9 percent of all Social Security affiliates in Spain, with growth outpacing the wider labour market.
