Spain Proposes New Workday Limits and Housing Initiatives

The Government has presented a new bill to reduce the maximum legal working hours from forty to thirty-seven point five hours per week, aiming for better work-life balance.

Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda Díaz stated that the reform affecting 12.5 million workers marks the first reduction since 1983, and seeks to modernise the labour market amidst evolving societal needs.

The legislation outlines the reduction in working hours, but prevents any reduction in salaries due to the changes.
