Sanchez to consider his next move after election
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez is considering his next steps, following on from Sunday’s General Election.
PSOE won the election with 29% of the vote, short of a majority in the Congress of Deputies.
For an absolute majority, PSOE, which has 123 seats, would need Podemos’ 42 seats and 11 more seats from other parties, including possibly Basque nationalists or Catalan separatists.
Deputy Prime Minister Carmen Calvo has said however the party may try to form a minority government. Negotiations over any coaliton plans are expected to begin in the coming days.
