Discussions with parties close with hints towards a possible coalition
The first round of discussions over the formation of a new Government have drawn to a close, with interim Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez holding meetings with the leaders of Ciudadanos and Unidos Podemos.

Whilst there was no firm decisions made on the formation of a new executive, Ciudadanos’ leader Albert Rivera has confirmed that he will not vote in favor of a PSOE government and has said he will instead ensure a strong opposition to the PSOE leader.
Meanwhile in a separate meeting with Podemos leader Pablo Iglesias, talks were understood to have shifted towards a coalition offer from the left wing party. After the meeting the leader of Podemos asked for patience to allow time for negotiations to continue.
