Moroccan police thwart attempt to jump Ceuta fence

Moroccan Police Thwart Attempted Border Jump by One Thousand Migrants in Ceuta
Around one thousand migrants were stopped by Moroccan police as they tried to scale the fence at the border of the Spanish enclave of Ceuta.

Four hundred migrants were intercepted, while the others managed to escape.

The Guardia Civil has increased its presence at the border in response.

This is one of the largest attempted crossings in recent times, with previous attempts being unsuccessful.

The fate of the intercepted migrants is currently unknown.
