A Columbian man who assaulted a nurse, leaving them blind in one eye on a Madrid subway has been jailed for four years and will be expelled from Spain for at least 10 at the end of his sentence.
20-year-old Juan Camilo assaulted the nurse after being asked to wear a mask during the height of the coronavirus pandemic.
The assault took place on a train travelling between Cuatro Caminos and Alto del Arenal stations, with CCTV catching the whole attack.
Along with the prison sentence, Mr. Camilo will have to pay over €76,000 in damages.
