Jose Luis Abalos refuses to stand down following payment irregularity allegations
Former Minister of Development – Jose Luis Abalos – has defied calls for him to resign as a member of the Spanish Parliament following allegations surrounding an illegal commissions scandal known as the ‘Caso Koldo’.
Mr. Abalos was asked to resign from his parliamentary seat by the end of the day yesterday by PSOE’s National Executive – who voted unanimously for him to surrender his seat.
Yesterday however he did step aside from his role as president of the Interior Commission. PSOE have said that they intend to call for a parliamentary inquiry into irregularities in contracts during the coronavirus pandemic.
