Investigators believe bus crash driver was asleep at the wheel

Catalan investigators working on Monday’s bus crash that left dozens of people injured believe the driver fell asleep at the wheel.

47 people were injured – 22 of those seriously – in the accident on the C-32 in Pineda de Mar, when the bus left the road and slammed into the portal of a tunnel, ending up blocking the entrance to the tunnel.

Officers said most of those who suffered injuries in the crash have now been discharged from hospital, however 4 remain in a critical condition.
