Investigation into Álvaro García Ortiz Continues

The Supreme Court has issued an instruction to the operators of WhatsApp and Google to provide data related to allegations of leaks surrounding the regional president of Madrid’s partner.

Judge Ángel Hurtado has ordered Meta and Alphabet to provide data on Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz.

This follows a request from the Guardia Civil’s Central Operative Unit regarding ongoing investigations regarding the publishing of personal information related to Alberto González.

The court deemed the request reasonable as no messages were found in Ortiz’s seized devices, with investigators wanting to explore all available data sources to determine who is responsible for the leaks.

Mr. Ortiz denies any wrongdoing.
