Former Minister José Luis Ábalos Faces Investigation

Former Transport Minister José Luis Ábalos appeared in the Supreme Court today as part of the ongoing Koldo case, denying allegations of receiving commissions during the coronavirus pandemic.

He is being investigated for purportedly accepting financial commissions during the procurement of sanitary materials.

The court has withdrawn his passport and requires him to report to the court every fortnight.

Ábalos insists his assets are legitimate, contesting links to a luxury property in Peru.

All under investigation deny any wrongdoing.
