European Foreign Minister Urges Just Peace for Ukraine

Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares has addressed ongoing negotiations surrounding the Russian invasion of Ukraine, stating that an unjust war cannot conclude with an unjust peace.

He emphasized that such a resolution would not serve European security or global stability.

Mr. Albares made the comments at a meeting of European foreign ministers in Paris, which focused on diplomatic efforts related to the conflict.

He stated that any potential peace deal must respect the United Nations Charter and consider the Ukrainians’ democratic choices.
