European Court of Human Rights rules in favour of Spanish migration policy

The European Court of Human Rights has faced criticism from migration charities after it backed the Governments express deportation of two African migrants who climbed over the fence into Melilla.

In a ruling issued yesterday, judges agreed there been no violation of two articles of the European Convention on Human Rights.

In an appeal, the court ruled that the pair had placed themselves in an unlawful situation and failed to use the legal procedures which existed to enter Spain legally.
