European Commission issued food alert after detecting anisakis in hake roe

The European Commission has issued a food alert after detecting anisakis in hake roe imported from Morocco.

The affected products, caught during border control in Spain, has been removed from the market.

This serious alert, issued at the start of the week, aims to protect consumers from potential severe intestinal and allergic reactions caused by the anisakis parasite.
