Man in Custody Over Alleged Connection to Violent Death of Woman in Esparreguera, Barcelona

A man has been arrested on suspicion of his involvement in the death of a twenty-nine-year-old woman in Barcelona.

Officers have detained the man after the woman was found seriously injured on a road in Esparreguera last Sunday.

Mossos d’Esquadra have launched a possible domestic violence investigation following the woman’s death.

The incident was initially mistaken for a hit-and-run.

The town of Òdena, where the victim lived, has announced a minute of silence as part of an official period of mourning.
