New border posts used by millions since launch

Over 120 automatic border control posts have come online over the last few months at border points across the country, including at local airports, with over 1.5 million passengers using the updated system since its introduction.

The new passport control, in place as people enter and exit Spain and the Schengen zone, takes an average of 20 seconds to pass through.

The new systems can be found at Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Girona, Palma, Alicante, Malaga, Tenerife Sur airports, on the border between Spain and Gibraltar and also at the Port of Algeciras.
