VIDEO: 16 arrested after six tonnes of cocaine discovered in raids in Malaga

6 Tonnes of cocaine have been seized in raids carried out by Policia Nacional in Malaga this week. The drugs were understood to have been hidden inside a consignment of bananas.

16 people have been arrested in what is being described as one of the largest drug discoveries to be made in recent times.

€300,000, firearms and high end vehicles were also confiscated during the raids, which saw a highly organised Dutch drug trafficking gang dismantled.

The drug operation, based in the Costa del Sol, was seen as one of the main suppliers of cocaine into Europe from the Costa Rica.
