PP to vote against housing decrees

Partido Popular says it will vote against the Government’s two new housing decrees when they go before Congress tomorrow.

PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo says the measures are incompatible, arguing that one decree provides for compulsory extensions of rental contracts until 2028, while another introduces indefinite extensions.

The Government disputes that interpretation and says the measures are designed to provide greater protection for tenants.

The two decrees will be voted on in Congress on Friday.
