Murder investigation launched after British woman killed on Costa Blanca

Guardia Civil on the Costa Blanca have launched a murder investigation after a 63-year-old British woman was found dead at her home in Orihuela.

Officers were called at around 4am to reports of a disturbance at a property, when they arrived they found the body of the woman, and a man – understood to be her partner – injured in what is being treated as a case of domestic violence.

A 69-year-old British man, who is understood to have previous complaints over violent behaviour towards women, has been arrested on suspicion of murder whilst undergoing treatment for injuries he sustained.
