Transport strike to cause travel delays in Canary Islands

Jet2 has warned travellers of possible delays after a transport strike was announced in the Canary Islands throughout October.

Tourist services in popular areas like Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura are likely to face disruption, with the holiday operator advising travellers contact their tour operator or transport company if their travel arrangements are affected.

The UK’s Foreign Office has also advised holidaymakers of expected travel disruption, but transportation to hospitals, medical centres, and urgent supplies will still be maintained during the strike.

Planned dates for industrial action:

October: 2nd, 4th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 21st, 23rd, 25th and 28th.
