El Paso residents told to remain indoors as air quality falls
As the volcanic eruption reaches a calendar month, people in the town of El Paso on the island of La Palma have been advised to remain indoors due to worsening air quality.
Meteorological conditions have deteriorated over the last day, with the emergency committee PEVOLCA advising people not to leave their homes due to changes in wind direction.
Restrictions are in place between the hours of 2pm to 9pm today.
Yesterday however did see students return to school in the worst affected areas. Pupils from Tazacorte, El Paso and Los Llanos de Aridane returned to the classroom after nearly a month out of school.
