Water Reservoir Breaks in Jarandilla de la Vera, No Casualties Reported
A number of residents in the town of Jarandilla de la Vera in Cáceres were evacuated from their homes on Monday morning following the partial collapse of a dam.
Vehicles were swept away and flooding occurred after around 310 cubic metres of water flooded parts of the town.
No injuries were reported, however a number of people remained in emergency accommodation overnight.
An investigation into the cause of the breach has been launched, with focus turning to either the structure of the dam, or recent inundations of rainfall in the region.
