Spain to deploy more troops to Slovakia

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has confirmed that Spanish soldiers are to head to Slovakia, to help strengthen the NATO eastern flank.

Mr. Sanchez confirmed the deployment whilst at the NATO summit in Vilnius, where he hosted a press conference at the end of the main summit to outline Spanish participation in the coming months.

Alongside the deployment to Slovakia, he also confirmed an increase in the number of troops being sent to Romania, where Spanish armed forces are manning the mobile air control group in the region.
