Date Spanish tanks set to arrive in Ukraine confirmed

Defence minister Margarita Robles has confirmed that the first Spanish tanks being sent to Ukraine are due to arrive shortly after Easter.

The German-made 2A4 Leopard tanks will be sent to Ukraine after 9 April.

Speaking in the Congress of Deputies, Ms. Robles confirmed that six tanks are due to arrive in the coming weeks, with a further four due to arrive shortly afterwards.

She also confirmed the repairs of the fighting vehicles that have not been used since the 1990s, as well as testing their combat readiness before shipping them.

The tanks are due to arrive following the completion of the training of Ukrainian troops on the vehicles, including mechconanics and weapons specialists.
