Spanish Health Minister to request mandatory use of masks in healthcare centers

Spanish Health Minister, Mónica García, will request the mandatory use of masks in healthcare centre’s due to the increase in respiratory virus infections.

Catalonia, Valencia, Murcia, and Aragón have already implemented this measure.

The use of masks will be temporary and implemented during the expected peak of infections in the third week of January.

The decision to implement mandatory mask usage varies among regions.

The Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine has called for additional protective measures.

The Madrid Health Minister criticizes the lack of planning by the national Ministry of Health.

The Basque Country does not currently plan to implement mandatory mask usage.
