Princess Leonor swears the Constitution and pledges to serve the Spanish people

Princess Leonor has sworn an oath to the constitution at a formal ceremony on her 18th birthday in Madrid.

The ceremony took place at the Congress of Deputies, with most political leaders in attendance. Accompanied by her parents and sister, Leonor expressed her commitment to the Spanish people, democracy, and constitutional values.

During the ceremony, the heir to the Spanish throne received the prestigious Collar of the Order of Charles III. Her father – King Felipe VI – emphasized the importance of democracy and the rule of law, while top government officials, including the acting Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, attended the ceremony.

Afterwards the future Queen was joined by family – including emeritus king and queen – Juan Carlos and Sofía – in a private dinner at the El Pardo Palace.
