War of words erupts as parties blame eachother for investiture failure
An angry war of words has erupted between the political parties in the Congress of Deputies after the failure to secure an investiture vote ahead of Monday’s deadline to form a Government.
Members of Government and opposition launched barbed attacks at their political opponents, blaming each other for the failure to come to a consensus over who should be the next prime minister.
Midnight on Monday is the deadline to form a new Government, however King Felipe VI came to the conclusion no party leader had the support of the Cortes to Govern.
Spain is set – unless there is a last minute change of stance – to return to the polls on the 10th November.
