Emergency declared after floods kill two, with warnings issued over ongoing risks downstream
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has said the Government will declare the areas affected by the flooding of the Ebro at the weekend river a “catastrophic zone” to enable emergency funding and support to be released.

He made the statement following hosting a meeting at the “Dialogues on the Future” conference. During his update he also offered his condolences to the families of the two people who were known to have died in the floods, as well as to give thanks to emergency services in the Navarra, Aragón and País Vasco regions.
