Yellow and amber weather warnings issued for Storm Amelie

A yellow weather warning for strong winds and rough seas has been issued for the Costa Blanca for today by meteorological agency Aemet.

The alert comes as storm Amelie arrives at the Iberian Peninsular. In total seven provinces across the country are on amber or yellow alert.

winds in excess of 70km/h are expected, which bring with it the risk of damage to buildings and bringing down trees. The storm will also cause rough seas and high waves, and people are being advised to remain cautious on coastal or exposed areas.
