70-year-old man pulled from sea after nearly drowning

A 70-year-old man was pulled from the sea in Torrevieja yesterday with symptoms of drowning, according to local emergency services.

Lifeguards were alerted to a man struggling in the sea shortly after midday. The man was pulled from the water unconscious but still breathing.

He was taken by ambulance to Torrevieja hospital where his condition was understood to be serious but stable.
