Carlos Alcaraz claims victory at Wimbledon beating Novak Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz – the worlds number 1 tennis player – has won Wimbledon, beating Novak Djokovic.

The 20-year-old Spaniard beat his Serbian opponent in the five set match 1-6 7-6 (8-6) 6-1 3-6 6-4 to lift the trophy for the first time.

Among the crowd watching the match at SW19 was King Felipe VI.

The last Spaniard to lift the winners trophy was Rafael Nadal, who beat Thomas Berdych in 2010.
