Guardia Civil investigating reports migrants shot at by Moroccan soldiers

Guardia Civil are investigating reports of migrants coming under fire from Morroccan soldiers in waters between Africa and the Canary Islands.

Charities said one person died and a number were injured in the incident, which has not been formally verified.

Government officials have said that some on board the inflatable boat were injured, yet none showed any signs of gunshot wounds.

The group of around 40 migrants were located around 12 miles south of Gran Canaria on Thursday night.
