A 35-year-old British man has died on Wednesday after getting into difficulties whilst diving in the waters off of Ibiza.
The un-named man was understood to have been taking part in underwater photography in Punta Galera when he was found to be in distress.
Despite the actions of his diving buddy and emergency services who attended the site after the alarm was raised, the man was declared dead at the scene.
Guardia Civil on the island have yet to release the identity of the man, however they have confirmed an investigation is currently underway.

Policia Nacional and Guardia Civil have made one of the largest seizures of synthetic drugs in the history of Spain.
In a joint operation between the two forces, hundreds of thousands of MDMA pills, thousands of doses of LSD and hundreds of litres of chemicals used to create controlled substances were confiscated in raids carried out in Barcelona, Andalucía and Ibiza.
Eleven people of Dutch, Spanish, Romanian, Colombian and Italian nationalities have been arrested, with eight being remanded in custody ahead of trial.

Policia Nacional have arrested 23 people in connection with their suspected involvement in Russian organised crime.
The gang were detained after raids were carried out on properties in Alicante, Madrid, Tarragona and Ibiza.
It’s understood senior members of the criminal organisation were detained in the raids, which also discovered hundreds of thousands of euros in cash, diamonds, 16 luxury vehicles and a selection of firearms including a sniper rifle and thousands of rounds of ammunition.
The joint operation is understood to be the largest of it’s type in over a decade.

Weather agency Aemet has issued a red alert for Alicante, Valencia and Ibiza for rough seas on Sunday, as Storm Gloria is expected across the Iberian peninsular.
Waves in excess of 7 metres is expected on Sunday night, with strong winds and some possible snowfall expected inland.
Authorities are monitoring the weather system, with 15 regions under weather warnings.

The search and rescue operation for those who are still reported missing after last weeks Storm Gloria has been restarted.
A body was discovered at the weekend at Cala Sant Vicent, which is believed to be a 41-year-old man who disappeared in the storm.

A British man has died in Toulouse after needing medication assistance on a flight to Spain.
The man, who has not yet been named, was flying from Manchester to Ibiza when the plane had to be diverted to France because of the medical emergency.
He was taken to hospital by ambulance when the plane landed but did not survive.

A British teenager has died in Ibiza after being pulled from a swimming pool, according to local media reports.
Emergency services were called to a rental villa in Sant Josep in the southwest of the island just after 3am on Sunday.
They carried out CPR on the 19-year-old boy, but according to local media he could not be saved.
A post-mortem is reportedly under way to determine if the teenager was intoxicated.

A 27-strong stag party’s “Appalling and aggressive behaviour” led to a Jet2 flight to Ibiza being diverted, and one person receiving a lifetime ban from flying with the airline.
The airline said one member of the party had already been stopped from boarding the plane on Friday. Jet2 said despite “repeated warnings” the group continued to be “aggressive and disruptive” during the flight.
Crew were left with “no choice” but to divert the Birmingham flight to Toulouse, where the Jet2 aircraft was met by police.
