Two drown off of coast of Tenerife
Two people drowned off of the coast of Tenerife yesterday afternoon, after a rescue attempt failed.
Emergency services were called to La Charca de La Laja in San Juan de la Rambla with reports that one person was in trouble in the sea, and another trying to rescue them.
Sadly both victims – understood to be Litunanian med – died at the scene. Two others, a man and woman of 36 and 37 years of age, also needed rescuing, and were transfered to hospital for emergency treatment.
The drownings came as weather warnings have been issued across the archipelago for bad weather, including high winds and rough seas.
