Weather warnings are in place across much of the region today for heavy rain, thunder and rough seas.
Aemet has issued red, amber and yellow warnings for the bad weather today and into tomorrow – with long term warnings to be in force until Sunday.
In some places nearly 100 litres per square metre of rain is expected to fall in a twelve hour period.
People are being warned to stay away from areas that are at risk of flooding, not to venture onto beaches or to bathe in the sea.
