The government has said that the operators of the AP-6 motorway – where thousands of people were stranded in a snowstorm at the weekend – should be held responsible for the delays and regional disruption, as a war of words has erupted over the situation.
The government has said that blame lies with operator Iberpistas, however opposition parties have demanded that the head of the DGT, Gregorio Serrano, stand down.
Podemos and Ciudadanos have called for an urgent meeting to discuss how the situation spiraled out of control when a snowstorm left over 3000 vehicles stranded in Castilla y León.
