Three people have been arrested in connection with a money forgery operation that attempted to bring thousands of euros of forged banknotes into Spain.
Policia Nacional officers, working with Portuguese officers and Europol raided a number of properties in Portugal, after the Bank of Spain launched the enquiry in August 2016.
Bank notes from the gang have been detected in Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Holland and Switzerland.
As well as forged Euros, counterfeit Central African Republic francs were also discovered.
One of those detained is understood to have been caught in the act of touching up forged notes.
