Spain has the longest life expectancy of any of the other OECD nations, except for Japan.
Life expectancy has improved by an average of ten years in all of the OECD countries if the figures for the 1970s are compared with the current ones.
However life expectancy in Spain is currently at 83 years, only beaten by Japan at 83.9 years.
