Flights to and from the UK’s second busiest airport – including those to Spain – were delayed or cancelled after an Air Canada Rouge flight to Toronto tyres burst on take-off.

Flights to Barcelona, Alicante, Gran Canaria, Malaga and Gibraltar were delayed whilst work continues to repair the damaged runway.
Incoming flights from Barcelona, Tenerife, Gran Canaria were either cancelled or suffered delays to their arrival back in the UK.
The Air Canada Rouge flight to Toronto returned safely to Gatwick.
