Policia Nacional, alongside Europol and Spanish intelligence operatives have arrested a Moroccan man who is understood to have been raising funds to pay for his ex-wife to join the so-called Islamic State.

Officers carried out a series of raids on Monday in Malaga, after it emerged that the suspect paid over €6000 to help his former wife and another man travel to Syria via Turkey. It’s understood the woman fought for the terrorist group upon arrival in Syria.
A 35-year-old man has been remanded in custody ahead of a court hearing this week.
