Guardia Civil have seized hundreds of tons of expired jamón and sausages that were about to be placed back in the market – in some cases, they were already back on sale.
In a series of raids carried out across various locations in Andalucia, meat, some of which was up to three years out of date, was discovered in cold storage facilities.
It’s understood that labels had been tampered with. Now an investigation is being made to see if the various cases are linked. People are being advised not to consume any meat that could have been tampered with, or looks and smells off.
