2 people have been seriously injured, and 35 injured in a train derailment this morning in Andalucia.
The incident happened on the Malaga to Seville service near to Arahal. The train had 74 passengers and staff on board at the time of the accident. It’s understood severe flooding washed away the track bed, causing the trail to derail.
Emergency services were alerted to the train derailment at 10:12am local time.
One person has been airlifted to Hospital Virgen del Rocío in a serious condition.
Two mobile emergency units were dispatched to the scene, along with other emergency services.
