Policia Nacional have closed a number of websites that were streaming films, series and sporting events online.
Two people were arrested in a series of raids carried out in Alicante and Madrid. It’s understood the company that was offering the service used servers in Spain, France and Canada in an effort to outwit investigators.
It’s understood the operators of the site made nearly 2 million euros in illegal downloads and streams through advertising and subscriptions. Those who bought services and content through them have had their accounts terminated and have lost their money.
Hard drives, mobile phones, laptops and cash were all seized during the raids.
