Nine out of ten hotels on the Costa Blanca have removed mini-bars from their rooms due to changes in legistlation and also a shift in consumer habits.
A change in requirements for hotel rooms to have a mini-bar in 2015, has seen many operators remove snacks and alcoholic drinks from the rooms, leaving just a fridge.
Hoteliers also saw cases of mini-bar theft rise, with people filling up empty bottles of drink with water, meaning that for many establishments, the service has become a loss leader.
