Nearly 3,000 pupils started their first primary or secondary school term this week in Xàbia, according to data released by the local authorities.
The figures are released as the local educational regional improvement plan gets into full force, that will see classrooms and facilities upgraded, and the complete rebuilding of the Graüll school.
1,963 primary school children had their first real taste of education this week, whilst 946 children joined the secondary school network in the city.
