The Catalan region saw a significant increase in visitor numbers to the region last year, according to data released by the Generalitat yesterday.
19.1 million foreign tourists visited last year, and increase of 5.5%. They brought an estimated €19bn worth of local goods and services as well, increasing 9.1% on 2016.
France remained at the top of the origin list of visitors with 4.5 million visitors crossing the border. British visitors saw an increase as well, up 4.9% to 2.17 million.
