Amber weather warnings for heavy rain, strong winds and rough seas have been issued for the region today, as the hot weather comes to an end.
In the Canaries, Calima conditions are expected to come to an end, as the weather takes a turn for the worse between today and midnight tomorrow night.
On the Costa Blanca rainfall in excess of 50mm are forecast between noon today and noon tomorrow. Thunder, high winds and rough seas are also expected to hit the region, increasing the risk of localised flooding.
Bathing in the sea is being advised against, and people are also being warned to remain cautious if they find themselves caught in the bad weather.
