Passenger numbers on Tenerife’s Tram network grew 1.6% in 2016 to almost 13.5 million journeys.
The figures are the third consecutive year that has seen numbers rise, which has gone against operators forecast for a predicted drop in passengers.
The results break previous records, and means that in the last decade since launch, 126 million customers have used the service.
Also released this week is the number of passengers using their mobile as a ticket on the service. The system has reported a significant rise in use last year, with 10 million users since 2013.
