As the hot weather spell – dubbed heatwave Luifer – continues to bring extremes of temperatures across the country, weather warnings are now in place for both high temperatures and heavy rains and thunderstorms in places.
Strong winds, thunder and the chance of localised flooding warnings have been issued for the nothern parts of the country, further south and on the islands, high temperatures remain the main reason for both amber and yellow weather warnings.
Temperatures will continue to reach above 38ºC, with people being advised to remain cautious in the heat, and to take precautions should there be sudden torrential rain and thunder.
